Answers
- How much will it cost me to get started?
There are several plans available. We have put a pricing
structure in place that will allow churches or organizations
of almost any size to establish a web presence. Pricing
is as follows:
- Silver plan - $150
one-time setup fee.
- Gold plan - $150 one-time
setup fee.
- Platinum plan - $280
one-time setup fee (includes domain name purchase).
- Is there a monthly cost associated with this service?
ChurchPad.com's monthly fees are well below what most
database driven, customized-content web sites cost. The
monthly fee for each plan is as follows:
- Silver plan - $15/month
- Gold plan - $25/month
- Platinum plan - $30/month
- Why so cheap? What's the catch?
There is no "catch". The reason for the inexpensive
price is that the site was created as a result of a collaborative
effort of experienced web designers and database programmers.
By streamlining the site to make it fully automated with
a commercial database, the time required for technical
support by our support staff, though always available,
is simply not needed for the most part. Everything is
100% browser based with a simple, easy-to-use interface,
meaning you are able to do the majority
of the work that you would otherwise pay someone else
to do.
- Will there be banners on my pages?
There will not be any banners on any pages that contain
your content. While the main Churchpad.com pages may at
time contain advertisements, your pages will never contain
any such banners or ads. You are paying for the service
with your monthly fees, not the advertisers.
- How do I link to my pages?
You will be able to link directly to your pages in several
ways:
- Search and Locate - You can go to http://www.churchpad.com
and click onto the "search"
link on the left navigation menu. You can then simply
locate your church or organization by clicking onto
the state, then the city, then the name of your church.
- Web Alias - This "neat" feature
allows you to create a subdirectory that will be your
URL. For instance, if your "alias" was "FirstBaptist",
then your URL would be http://www.churchpad.com/FirstBaptist.
This feature allows you to link to your home page
with a shortened URL that can be more reflective of
the name of your church or organization.
- Direct Links - You may link directly to any
of your pages. These links can be inserted directly
into any other web sites on which you may want to
list your content. In the case of the Platinum members,
you would simply be able to use your existing domain
name. Your content would then be displayed in a hidden
frame. Some sample links could be:
http://www.churchpad.com/church.php?ChurchID=4
OR
http://www.churchpad.com/calendar/month.php?ChurchID=4&LocationID=9
- How do I update my pages?
You will be able to update all of your pages, including
your calendar of events through your browser. You will
be assigned a username and password which will grant you
administrative access to your site. You will then be able
to build your entire site, including uploading images
and adding text to your pages. You will be able to name
each of your pages. The page names will then appear automatically
on your nav bar. You will be able to specify the color
of the nav bar and the color of the text from a variety
of "color schemes". You will also be able to
use a background image, if desired, for your site by choosing
from a variety of available pre-loaded backgrounds. MOST
OF ALL, IT WILL BE EASY ENOUGH FOR ANYONE TO DO.
- Do I have to know html or web design to use this
service?
No. You will be able to update your entire web site through
your browser. There is no software required to be installed
on your system other than what is listed on the Product
Info page. All updates are made in real-time through
your browser. You will be able to build your entire web
site with no knowledge of html or web design. The ChurchPad.com
collaborative development staff has done the hard work
for you. What's left is the easy part.
- Can I allow a second person to update the Secondary
Calendar?
Yes. The account administrator (Level 1 Administrator)
will be able to designate an individual (Level 2 Administrator)
that will have the ability to update the Secondary Calendar.
The Level 2 Administrator will only have the capability
to update information on the Secondary Calendar.
- Will I receive SPAM email as a result of using your
services?
While ChurchPad.com cannot guarantee what unethical actions
other individuals or organizations may take, we can guarantee
the actions of our staff. We will not sell your email
addresses to any business or organization. ChurchPad.com
may, from time to time, send out emails to our members
(known as "partners"), but our staff will not
participate in, or condone, any activity which results
in the disclosure of any administrator's email address.
We take a strong stand against SPAM.
- How do I know that this service is reliable?
ChurchPad.com is hosted on servers that have an "uptime"
of over 99.99%. The servers are FreeBSD UNIX servers tuned
for security, performance, and stability. With UPS (Uninterruptible
Power Supply) that can power the entire facility for up
to 4 hours and a 750,000 watt Caterpillar diesel generator
to supply power for extended utility power outages, your
website will very rarely be inaccessible. The MySQL database
which powers the site itself is capable of handling almost
unlimited amounts of data. With the configuration of the
database, the database language that is used (php), and
the server's operating system software, the resulting
dependability is unbeatable.
